Colorado STEM Academy offers many opportunities beyond our school hours for your child to continuing learning and growing.
Chess Club -
Led by National Chess Master Jesse Cohen, Summit School of Chess has been serving hundreds of students around the Greater Denver Area since 2012. Our team of coaches is ready for students of all ages and skill levels. We specialize in having fun, respectful, and controlled environments where students can be safe to flourish.
STEM FUNdamentals with LEGO-
Level up your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer-designed projects. Projects are rotated seasonally to ensure that even returning students get a new experience, so join us to design and build as never before and explore your craziest ideas.
Mixed Media Book Making-
Learn how to construct a handmade journal to express your interests and stories. In this course, students will learn the basics of constructing various types of handmade journals while also learning about mixed media art techniques to use as tools for expression within their journals. Students will have the opportunity to discover how mixed media art practice can allow them to express their own stories in the context of an art journal. Students will have the opportunity to share their discoveries at the end of the workshop and will have a fully constructed Hand Made Journal to take home with them.
Martial Arts Club-
Includes self-defense, situational awareness, De-escalation, Physical training, Mindset Training, Family and self-care, Compassion, Responsibility, Respect, Academic goal setting, And of course, FUN! The course includes Balance and strength games, Quick thinking and agility games, and Student bonding.
Move and Groove (Dance Club)-
Miss Amy will lead your kids through age appropriate dance while using fun props and energizing music.
Nature Club-
Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) Nature Club is an after school program where kids get to learn and connect with nature in a in person club hosted at the school. The club is facilitated by educators from Butterfly Pavilion and is free of charge!
Woodworkers and Woodturners Club -
Students will be working on a project and developing woodworking and woodturning skills. Safe use of tools and good shop practices will be emphasized in this enrichment opportunity. Students will create two projects that they get to take home.
