Weekly Update April 7th - 11th

Settling in for CMAS!

Hello CSA Families and Friends,

CMAS testing starts on Tuesday and with that the end of the year quickly approaches!

As we head into this testing season, we want to keep you informed and supported and remind you of a few important things. Please take a moment to read these important reminders and tips.

🗓️ State Testing Dates

Testing will begin Tuesday, April 8 and continue over two weeks. Please help your child be on time each day—testing begins promptly in the morning.

  • April 8, 9, 10 – ELA for all grades

  • April 15, 16, 17 (AM) – Math for all grades

  • April 15, 16, 17 (PM) – Science for 5th & 8th grade only

⏰ On-time arrival is critical! Students who arrive late may not be able to test that day.

🚫 Early Pickups During Testing

We kindly ask that parents avoid early pick-ups during testing unless there is an emergency. This helps maintain a quiet, focused environment for all students.

🧠 5 Simple Ways to Support Your Child During Testing

  1. Get Plenty of Sleep – Make sure your child is well-rested each night.

  2. Eat a Healthy Breakfast – Fuel up with protein, fruit, and whole grains.

  3. Keep Mornings Stress-Free – Set out clothes and pack bags the night before.

  4. Encourage Without Pressure – Remind them to try their best—you’re proud of them!

  5. Limit Screens at Night – Wind down with quiet activities like reading.

🧤 Lost & Found is Overflowing!

Our Lost and Found at the Irving building is bursting at the seams! Please stop by before or after school to check for any missing jackets, water bottles, or other items.

🚸 Morning Supervision Reminder

For your child’s safety, please remember:
There is no supervision before 8:00 AM.
Please do not drop off students before this time.

Thank you for being such a vital part of our community. Your partnership makes a difference—especially during this busy time!

Warmly,

Karina Costas

We believe that uniforms can help build community. We also believe that individual style is important! For that reason, there are lots of ways that students and familes can show their school spirit at STEM. In addition to the yearly shirt exchange (see flyer below), families can purchase shirts and other swag from our School Store or directly through our vendor.

Many organizations partner with schools to give back to our community, and we’re excited to share information about these valuable collaborations. Flyers detailing these partnerships will be displayed around the school and at the PTA tent, so be sure to check them out to learn how these organizations are supporting our students and programs.
