Weekly Update for May 12th - 16th

Hello CSA Families and Friends,

🎉 A big thank you to Mr. Kalvin for organizing a fantastic Field Day last week! It was a joyful celebration of community, teamwork, and fun — and a wonderful way to mark the final stretch of the school year. The smiles on our students’ faces said it all! It was also wonderful to see so many of our parents here to join in the fun — one of the things that makes our school so special is the strong relationships we share with our families. Your presence and support made the day even more meaningful!

🍎 As we wrap up Teacher Appreciation Week, we want to thank our dedicated staff for everything they do to support our students day in and day out. Their energy, creativity, and compassion make a lasting difference. We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to our amazing PTA — their thoughtful planning and generous support throughout the week made our staff feel truly celebrated. If you see a PTA member, please join us in thanking them — they are the heart of our school community!

We also want to recognize and thank the students and families who helped make this week extra special by bringing in tokens of appreciation or sending beautifully heartfelt messages to staff members who have made a significant impact this year. Your kind words and gestures mean the world! 💌 If you’d still like to share a message of gratitude, we will continue to keep the link open through the remainder of the school year for students or parents to add their notes of thanks.

📊 End-of-year assessments are nearly complete, and we are proud of the effort our students and staff have put into this important work. We’ll be reviewing some initial data on Monday as we continue to thoughtfully plan for the upcoming school year. Thank you for encouraging your children to finish strong — it matters, and it shows.

🎓 Upcoming Celebrations:
We are thrilled to celebrate our students’ accomplishments in the coming days with Continuation Ceremonies and End-of-Year Awards Ceremonies. These special events honor the growth, achievement, and milestones reached by our learners. Families are invited to join us in recognizing their students' hard work and perseverance. See the Important Dates section below for more information. Note: After their scheduled celebration (whether Continuation or Awards), students are welcome to begin their Summer Break. Please be sure to check communications from your child's teacher for dates and times of these events.

🛼 Skate into Summer!
We’re excited to share a fun opportunity for families looking to stay active this summer — Skate City Summer Memberships are now available! Please see the attached PDF flyer for details on how to get discounted access to skating all summer long.

🌷 As we head into the weekend, we’d also like to wish all the mothers and mother figures in our community a very Happy Mother’s Day! Your love, guidance, and support make all the difference in our students' lives.

Thank you for being such an essential part of our school family. We are grateful for your partnership and look forward to a joyful close to the school year!

Warmly,

Karina Costas

We believe that uniforms can help build community. We also believe that individual style is important! For that reason, there are lots of ways that students and familes can show their school spirit at STEM. In addition to the yearly shirt exchange (see flyer below), families can purchase shirts and other swag from our School Store or directly through our vendor.

Many organizations partner with schools to give back to our community, and we’re excited to share information about these valuable collaborations. Flyers detailing these partnerships will be displayed around the school and at the PTA tent, so be sure to check them out to learn how these organizations are supporting our students and programs.
