CSAWeeklyUpdate_10.25.24
Dear CSA Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,
It is hard to believe that there is less than a week left in October! This year has been flying by and I am so grateful for all the support of the staff and community. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed getting to know you all and your incredible children over the last three months--CSA is truly an incredible school!
This week, we had the chance to speak with many of you during the District Showcase. If you missed it, don't worry! There will be plenty of additional opportunities to connect. I am also attaching our summary data below. This sheet was presented during the showcase (in addition to a more in-depth presentation to DAAC). On it, you will find our Beginning-of-Year (BOY) data as well as building goals.
We experience many other successess at CSA this week!
- The PSAT on Wednesday went off without a hitch! Congratulations to all test-takers and proctors for a job well-done!
- Thursday's visit with Stan Yan was also a huge success! Kids got to meet the author, hear the story, and share what they were scared of so that the author could help make them less scary. Check out the pictures and timelapse video here to enjoy this cool experience. If you missed out on ordering your own copy of There's a Zombie in the Basement , there is still time... Any books ordered between now and next Friday will include personalized bookplates from the author. Use the QR code on the flyer below to order.
- Thursday night was Movie Night, and I am told that kids of all ages had a blast!
- Finally, thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Run4Funds fundraiser. This year, we raised a total of $14,076.37! Classes definitely gave it their all, but in the end none was able to beat out Beckman's Level 4 at Irving or Mayns's Level 6 at Union!
Next week is a short one. Fall Break will be Thursday, October 31st and Friday, November 1st. This week, make sure to check out the Fall Sale for this year's Yearbook. Through Friday only, you can order your 2025 CSA Yearbook for $25. After November 1st, the price will increase to $30. See the message below for more details.
Also below, be sure to check out the Important Dates Section to see what else is in store!
Have an amzing weekend and we hope to see you all on Monday!
Warm regards,
Karina Costas

STEMGEAR!
We believe that uniforms can help build community. We also beleive that individual style is important! For that reason, there are lots of ways that students and familes can show their school spirit at STEM. In addition to the yearly shirt exchange (see flyer below), families can purchase shirts and other swag from our School Store or directly through our vendor.

Many organizations partner with schools to give back to our community, and we’re excited to share information about these valuable collaborations. Flyers detailing these partnerships will be displayed around the school and at the PTA tent, so be sure to check them out to learn how these organizations are supporting our students and programs.
